The Lighthouse Reef Atoll is an underwater sinkhole formed at least 15 thousand years ago when the land was above sea level.
The tour continues with the Blue Hole Dive, here you will enjoy nature and the enormous underwater stalactites. Adding to the thrill of the dive are the resident Caribbean Reef Sharks which proceed from the deep blue hole.
The Great Blue Hole is a massive underwater sinkhole off the coast of Belize, it lies near the centre Lighthouse Reef. The hole is a near perfectly circular in shape more than 1000 feet across and 480 feet deep. The marine life in this area includes nurse sharks, giant’s groupers, and several types of reef sharks such as the Caribbean reef shark and the Blacktip shark.
