The main town on Ambergris Caye is San Pedro. This island is a mile or so long and encompasses only a few street blocks. Getting to Ambergris Caye is easy; the island is serviced by hourly scheduled flights. A short twenty minute flight from the international airport brings one to the San Pedro airport, which is walking distance to town. Ferry service is also available.
This, almost unexplored peaceful, caye sits between Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the west. Numerous mangrove systems both offshore and along the coast create a tremendous wetland environment.
The island has the largest concentration of visitor accommodations in Belize. The fishing and diving facilities are some of the best in the country. Since the Great Blue Hole and many other barer reefs are so close from the Ambergris Caye, there are plenty of shops and
hotels in San Pedro that offer the best service and packages for scuba diving.
Many people that look for an adventure and to explore the underwater world of Belize, come to Ambergris Caye. However, this island is also a perfect place for an exciting
Belize hotel all inclusive. There are many Mayan ruins and vestige ready to be explored. Also, swimming in the Belizean beach and
Belize scuba diving is one activity that you will never forget.
